As far as I know www.elance.com is the most used online market place for small and medium outsourced IT projects.
I tried to make a small analyze of the companies active on this platform with emphasis on the revenues that these companies gain from projects contracted through elance.
As expected Indian companies are on top. 5 out of the top 10 companies are from India. The company that had the highest revenue in the last 6 months is Xicom Technologies LLC. a company from New Delhi, India with more than 100 employees that managed to secure revenues of $528,224 only from elance in the last 6 months. Since Feb 2002 they cashed more than 2.2 million USD.
Eastern European companies are well represented with companies on 3rd, 4th and 7th place. One from Russia and 2 from Ukraine. Unfortunately none of the top 10 companies are from Romania.
The first Romanian company is ranked on place 20. Dreamaker is a company from Iasi. They are a team of 6 programmers and 1 designer. They have almost a year since they joined elance in March 2007. In the last 6 months they earned 89,650 USD on elance. This means 15,000 USD per month.

I think that they are still working as free-lancers. I think they get projects from their professional network and they also take projects from elance.
