The biggest private investor in Iasi? None!

Iasi is still in the transition period. Sad but true! We should accept this and see it as an opportunity to grow.

The biggest employer, shareholder and investor in Iasi is the Romanian Government!
This is one of the biggest problem I see for Iasi. I didn't imagine that the situation was so bad. Practically it's the same situation as in the 90s.

Out of the biggest 25 employers in Iasi, 18 are state owned. And all of the biggest 5 employers are state owned:

1. County School Inspectorate Iasi - 13.500 employees
3. Romanian Post - 3.300 employees
4. CFR - Romanian Railway Company - 3.100 employees

The only 2 companies that are in the top 10 are Fortus and Antibiotice. And Fortus is not the most positive example given the troubled situation it's in.

In the top 25 employers there are no companies that were started as private companies from the beginning. There are only state owned companies and private companies that used to be state-owned.

This is a big problem but also a big opportunity. Just imagine what a big pool of potential employees a potential employer could have access to. I am sure that the salaries are quite low in these state-owned institutions.

Let's just hope that the Delphi project will be successful and that many others will follow.
